2 Awesome Videos that Speak How I Feel About Dance
Found these videos while I was looking up another dance blog. And I just went on a binge of watching videos on their channel. I went on their "We Know The Feeling" playlist, these two resonated to me the most. I deeply admire the cinematography and the message they use through dance.
"If my dance had to say one thing... it would be to let love lead. It's a platform to say everything I have to say and express." - tWitch
"When you're deep in the moment of dance... time just slips away."
- Wade Robson

2012 US Philippine Expo
I recently did some freelance work in putting together a really quick :30 second commercial.
While the client provided the footage and materials regarding the event,
I first started the process by storyboarding it so I go into the whole thing with a plan of attack and so I'm not aimlessly hoping that something good pops out of nowhere.
I then proceeded to create the assets I needed in Photoshop and Maya.
Then I put everything into After Effects and put everything in it's proper timing. From there, I animate all the assets needed and then spice up anything I feel needs some lovin.
The whole process only took about 9 hours.

Updated My Resume!
Finally took some time to update my resume! My friend, Ben Whitehair recently share this video from Ramit Sethi on tips on how to write a winning resume. He gives some incredible insigh like giving your resume a narrative. Once I finished and gave a look over my previous version of my resume, all I could think is, "Damn, this is boring."
Feel free to have a look-see! Animation Resume.
Next up, updating my reel!

Been Uber Busy
I'm alive! I've been pretty damn busy since the last time I posted something aside from a flier here. I figure I'd give the low down of what's been happening.
MITT Leadership Training
This is probably one of the best things I've ever invested in because this was simply focused on myself, not anyone else.
I have bought many countless things that I knew could improve my lifestyle: new shoes, clothes, a new computer, a new apartment, a college education. All of which adds up to thousands of dollars.
Before the training I was pretty satisfied with what I had going on for myself. I had a great paying job, I had balance with my job and dancing, my dance crew is growing, and my relationship with my girlfriend was pretty good. Then after the training I found out what more I could get, and from day one the possibilities for what I could get for my life were endless.
I regained the ability to dream like a child and see that anything is possible.
I had these dreams before the training too, but something inside me told me that "I can't" because "it's not realistic" or "it's not possible." To hell with that.
I found out what was holding me back whether I knew about it or not.
And I learned how to breakthrough whenever it shows up.
Frame Machine
I got hired at Frame Machine at around the end of October and have been working there ever since as their Technical Director.
It's been grueling work to meet deadlines and what not, but I've been enjoying what I've been doing.
I feel like House trying to solve puzzles whenever I'm trying to come up with new tools and scripts for the animators. =]
Family Bizness
Fam Biz has grown huge since the last update about them. We are now 36 dancers strong! I love the people who have joined the team to contribute and improve their talents with us. I love the hard work people put in. I admit, this season as well has been pretty intense and fast paced. And I'm well aware that it can get the best to of me and other sometimes.
We're on the road to World of Dance-Los Angeles! I saw the line up a little while ago and I'm excited and honored to go on stage with such amazing dancers. Now it's time to show why we deserve to be on that stage and share with everyone what we're about.
New Apartment
Steph and I finally got our own place! It feels great to finally have a place of our own. It's not too far from both our parents' homes. It's been pretty quiet since we just moved and we're still in the process of settling in. Housewarming party soon!
The Best for Last
I am going to be a father! I received the exciting news from my girlfriend, Stephanie, about 2 1/2 months ago! As scared as I was at first, I'm pretty excited at the fact that I'm going to be a dad. I'm aware of how big of a responsbility that's going to be, and I'm game for it. The thought of bringing a life and a consciousness to this world and that Steph and I are going to be the ones helping mold this person is both scary and exciting. Our child is going to be the best person we've ever met.

No Easy Props Hip Hop 101 Expansion Program
This is video that a friend posted on Facebook. it's featuring one of my favorite B-girls, Asia One along with some fellow hip-hop teachers talking about and after school hip-hop education program they've put together.
It's a pretty dope video and is something a lot of these schools need in California, especially with all the budget cuts. Watch and enjoy.

Caricature Sketches!
This past weekend I got to do some caricatures over at Alhambra Hot Spot. It was nice to just sit down and sketch people. Along with that, I also got to hang out with my dance crew, Family Bizness, who happened to be at the booth right next to me doing face painting.
I'll be doing the same thing this Saturday afternoon after my classes. I'll be sharing the booth with Family Bizness and I'll also be competing in both the crew competition and the b-boy battles; should be one hell of a Saturday. Anyways, here are some sketches and pictures from this past weekend!

FamBiz and Teen Groov Shirt Presentation Pieces
These 2 pieces are already up in my gallery, but I never really got a chance to talk about it.
Some of you may have already seen these shirts whether by online or seeing one of the dancers wear them. Either way, I always enjoyed the way the shirts turned out, but I HATED the template I used in putting them together. It looked too cartoony, and shirts don't really look like that. Thank God I finally found a template that does the job. Anyways, I put these together simply because I wanted a better way to present them. Just having a black background didn't do it justice. And I didn't want to just place a picture of the people wearing them right next to it either. So I made the pictures a part of the background, but enough to still feel a presences throughout. Well anyways, I hope you guys enjoy!

Teaching At Glendale High School
A little while ago one of my friends, Anthony, had asked me to come teach some of the kids at Glendale High some street styles. Now this is different from teaching Glendale High School's Dance Camp where I mainly just teach them a routine.
So I gladly said yes. I personally find exciting to teach younger dancers these kinds of dances.
I had about 3 hours to teach them, so I decided to teach them two styles. I taught them breaking and locking. But I didn't just teach them a routine I went into the history of each dance and then gave them a few drills.
One of the main obstacles I found a teaching was that there were about what looked like 60 or 80 kids in the room. So I faced the challenge of making sure the people in the back were able to pick up as well. Along with that, I had to make sure that no one stepped on each other's fingers when I taught them breaking.I taught them what I thought was a pretty simple routine, but still enough for it to be a challenge.
Here are the videos. I hope you enjoy!

Other Versions of FamBiz' Coming Soon Flier
So a little while ago, to build buzz of FamBiz' up coming auditions, I designed some teaser fliers. But in the process, I cam up with more than one that I liked. And I always tend to like more than one version of a design I made. So I decided to let the team decide.
This is what the team over all chose.
Here are the other versions that I made!
